Welcome!
The term "Choker" is the rather uninviting
name for an invitingly beautiful
piece of jewellery, which has made a woman’s
neck an eye-catcher since the 19th century.
While the English name of this velvet neckband is thought to generally refer to the tightness of the ribbon, the German name “Kropfband” derives from something even more unpleasant than choking, as stated on one of our next pages.
Well, what comes to your mind when you read about “chokers”?
Out of style?
Admittedly, chokers were in style 200 years ago. Elisa-Chokers combine
tradition and innovation to show you classical as well as trendy styles
for the modern scene.
Dull?
Well, enjoy yourself browsing through the Elisa-Choker-Collections and have a change of heart!
Wanna bet?
Mass production items from China?
Our production location is in Bavaria, Germany. An Elisa-Choker is typically
one-of-a-kind and elaborately hand-crafted. Once you choose one you
won’t find a similar one on the planet. Exceptions apply for identical chokers
specifically ordered as sets (e.g., for sisters, friends or members
of a Traditional Costumes Association) upon request and according to special
agreements.
An “Oktoberfest”-Accessory only?
Today a choker is a most decorative accessory, no matter if you want
it state-of-the-art for your wedding day or rather rustic for having
fun at the Oktoberfest.
As you see, Elisa-Chokers are as up-to-date as traditional, as fancy as exquisite, as pure as inventive. Elisa-Chokers are just the way you want them to be!
